Rowan’s parents, originally from Corsicana, recently relocated to Midland, Texas and made the drive back to their hometown for his session.  Rowan’s mom also wanted pretty earth tones incorporated into his session and I think the colors complimented his beautiful skin tone very well!  He was a bit feisty at the beginning of the session.  I think mom and dad were a little worried he wouldn’t do well, but I had to remind them that every baby is different.  Some come into the session, breezing through parent and sibling shots in less than 20 minutes, but may then wake up for 30 minutes or so before they fall back to sleep.  Other babies may be more awake in the beginning but fall into a deep sleep once I begin posing on the bean bag.  These sessions are difficult no matter the temperament of the baby, but one thing I have learned throughout the years is how to modify the original plan according to how the baby is doing.  So if you are an expectant mother or a mother who recently delivered and reading this, just know that you can get a great session no matter how your baby is the day of the session.

Just remember, BABY RUNS THE SHOW! 😉

Typically, newborn sessions are scheduled between 6-15 days old.  I spend a tremendous amount of time on the planning and details of these sessions so I only book four per month to give my clients a great experience!  If you are expecting and interested in reserving a session on my calendar, I recommend booking months in advance to ensure availability.
