Avery Leigh – 10 Days New

Meet Princess Avery, future conqueror of worlds!   “Why do you say this,” you ask?  Because this little lady showed me who was boss today!!🤣  I think it’s amazing how newborns can all be somewhat the same, but also very different at the same time!  They can show their little individual personalities so early in life.  Mom was another neutral lover and I’m just loving this peachy tone on sweet Avery.  She was so super squishy, just can’t get enough of those little rolls☺

I also love that Ashlea chose to use purple with Avery.  It’s one of my favorite colors to use with girls😊 This set actually started with a plan to do something different, but like I said – miss Avery was in charge – so we improvised.  Sometimes I think that’s what makes a session like this so special because it’s all about remembering them when they’re this small, all the facets of their personality!

We went onto props and got her cozy and comfortable in this little rustic basket.  I stood up, one shot, the light flashed and BAM she moves!  I normally am able to get multiple angles and shots of one setup and narrow them down to the best later on, but we literally got one image of this one.  Part of me wanted to run upstairs to my computer and upload it right away because it was giving me a tad bit of anxiety only having one shot🤣  but it worked out that it was quite beautiful anyway so we decided to move onto other props!

So then we have this shot, which was totally unplanned!  We left her in the basket to move to the darker wood and set up the next prop.  She had pulled one arm out and fell back to sleep like this.   So, I told mom we ought to just grab another shot of this one because it was pretty darn cute!

I always try to give parents several color options when planning their sessions.  It makes for a much easier decision when choosing what to print for wall art later on😊

Typically, newborn sessions are scheduled between 6-15 days old.  Upon booking, I ask the client to select a date during the week that is 14 days from the due date.  This is just a tentative date that will be adjusted accordingly once baby is delivered.  If you are expecting and interested in reserving a session on my calendar, I recommend booking during your first trimester as spaces are limited.  You may view the calendar here https://jodicrockerphotography.as.me/newbornsession
